iUNIK: Skincare for All Skin Types

I’ve been seeing and reading iUNIK products on Instagram with good reviews, so I was ecstatic when iUNIK told me they’d send me two products. It’s my first international PR. Kudos to this brand, though, because they let bloggers choose what products they want to try.

By the way, I got the package first day of October at Quezon City Post Office and only paid PHP112 for the handling fee. (Yup, you need to pay the post office.) I’ve been using this every day and night since then, and now I’m ready to tell my experience about these two.

Let’s talk about iUNIK first…

“Standing for Ideal, Unique, Natural, Ingredients, and Knowhow, iUNIK is a Korean beauty brand that offers minimalist skincare carefully formulated using natural ingredients. Their belief is that you could find skin happiness with minimalism despite today’s culture of excess. With iUNIK, there is no overloading of content and exaggerated colorful designs and packages. Instead, they focus on good, effective natural-origin ingredients—packaged simply and cleanly—that do away with the need for numerous skincare steps while still delivering awesome results. Get fuss-free beauty that works with iUnik.”
Packaging: I like the minimal packaging. The labels are written in Korean and English and are easy to read, plus the bottle of the serum can be used again after it’s emptied. I like it!

Claims: This gel-type toner gives powerful vitalizing, daily brightening & moisturizing, and rebalances & softens the skin.

Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid 45%, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruits Extract 5%, Sodium Hyaluronate Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, 12-Hexanediol, Trehalose Caprylyl Glycol, Thuja Orientalis Leaf Extract, Zanthoxylum Schinifolium Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Ethylhexylglyrcerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Pentylene Glycol, Aspathalus Linearis Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract

Hyaluronic Acid Benefits: Hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to replenish skin moisture. This one is always used and is important for anti-aging products because it makes the skin hydrated. Another thing, hyaluronic acid is helpful for all skin types.

Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruits Extract Benefits: Hippophae Rhamnoides is the extract of the fruit of Sea Buckthorn. It contains lots of fatty acids that help calm and soothe red skin, and also keep the skin hydrated.

Application: After cleansing, I gently sweep the gel over my face and neck with my fingertips. Its texture is like a moisturizer, and it will turn slightly white upon massaging, but the skin absorbs it quickly.

Scent: No fragrance.

Price: PHP1,209 (Beautymnl)

Result: I didn’t like this toner at first because it was my first time using a gel-type toner and I thought it will only clog up my pores, plus I had hormonal pimples that time so my skin was really bad and the weather didn’t help either. It does not love at first use, but I like it now. The toner is good for cold weather because it is extremely hydrating.

Claims: Powerful calming, nourishing & brightening, and wrinkle care.
Ingredients: Propolis Extract 70%, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract 12%, Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Niacinamide, Dipropylene, Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycosyl, Trehalose, Honey Extract, Beta-Glucan, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Allantoin, Carbomer, Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ethylhexyglycerin, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Citrus Aurantium Bergania (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana Witch Hazel) Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Ficus Cariga (Fig) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Nut Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Glycyrrhiza Gabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract, Perilla Flutescens Leaf Extract, Yucca Schidigera Root Extract
Propolis Extract Benefits: “Propolis is commonly used for its healing, antiseptic and restorative capabilities. Propolis will assist in balancing, healing and soothing problematic skin. It also accelerates the rate of cell growth and decongests pores. Propolis protects against bacteria and functions as a great anti-inflammatory agent.” - heyhoney.com
Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract: Another thing about this is that it has Vitamins C, E, and K.

Application: After toner, I gently apply it on my face and neck and just let it absorb. I thought it’s too thick, sticky, and heavy for me at first, but no, it’s not sticky plus it absorbs quickly into the skin that’s why I use it on my AM routine too.

Scent: No fragrance.

Price: PHP1,099 (Beautymnl)

Result: I love this serum! It’s super hydrating and gives me the glow. I always woke up with good skin, my face looks smoother, and my foundation didn’t crack up. This serum is true to its claims. I’m not sure about the wrinkle care because my face is not mature enough to see it.

Here's the picture:
I didn’t know then what to expect from these two products. I’ve been using it every day and night for a month until my mother is always asking me what product I’m using on my face and says that she likes it. The products brighten up my face. Well, these are the only products I incorporated into my routine, so these are the reasons for that glow.

The only downside I could think of these two is that you cannot see the effect immediately. The ingredients are too gentle. (It’s a good thing, though.)
